The Dr. Jennie S. Hwang Award

For Faculty Excellence (Cleveland State University)

The Award, the highest honor bestowed on the CSU faculty members in all disciplines, provides pacesetting recognition for CSU faculty for bringing regional, national and international recognition to the University through exceptional achievements in teaching, research and service.

Dr. Hwang, a member of the Cleveland State University Foundation Board of Directors, is an entrepreneur and corporate executive who has enjoyed success in the business and technology arenas. She established the award through a gift to the Foundation to help motivate faculty across campus to ever-increasing levels of excellence. One awardee is chosen annually from the men and women honored by the University's Distinguished Faculty Program.

The Dr. Jennie S. Hwang Award includes a monetary prize, a plague and broad recognition.

Selection criteria:

  • Full-time faculty member at Cleveland State University
  • Exceptional achievements in combined performance in research, teaching and service.
  • Outstanding community involvement
